Essential Job Functions
Responsible for working directly with clients and providing support and care. Duties include helping with therapeutic activities, following participant activity plan as needed / directed, accompanying clients to bathroom or from one activity to another, and acting as primary caregiver for clients who need assistance with activities of daily living. Assists with serving of meals and snacks. Also responsible for cleaning of bathrooms and activities area as needed. Assists Program Director in preparing monthly activity calendar and daily agenda.
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS : High School Graduate or equivalent. Certificate of completion of a State of Hawaii certified Nurse's Aide course (100 hours). State of Hawaii Nurse Aide Certification, preferred.
EXPERIENCE : Required : Six (6) months experience in an adult day care center, community health agency, nursing home or as a family member care-giver. Preferred : Two or more years' experience in an adult day care center, community health agency or nursing home.
SKILLS REQUIRED. Excellent people skills. Excellent verbal communication skills. Compassionate and enjoys working with senior citizens. Organizational skills. Current CPR and First Aid certification.
