Key Responsibilities:
Program Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the food pantry and clothing department, ensuring that shelves are well-stocked, organized, and clean.
- Maintain inventory records for food, clothing, and other supplies; track incoming donations and outgoing distributions.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for efficient service delivery to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and program goals.
- Coordinate utility assistance and prescription medication assistance programs, ensuring clients are connected with appropriate resources and supported throughout the process.
Volunteer Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers to support all aspects of the program, including food distribution, clothing sorting, and administrative tasks.
- Provide ongoing support, leadership, and recognition to volunteers to ensure a positive and productive working relationship.
Client Services
- Serve as clients' primary point of contact, providing compassionate and respectful service while assessing needs and connecting them with appropriate resources.
- Ensure accurate and confidential client records are maintained, and assist with data collection for reporting purposes.
- Work collaboratively with clients to address urgent needs such as utilities and medications while guiding additional resources or long-term solutions.
Community Engagement and Partnerships

- Represent the organization in the community by participating in events, outreach efforts, and public relations initiatives to increase program visibility and support.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage program budgets and expenditures, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Prepare reports on program performance, client demographics, volunteer activity, and inventory levels.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and community donations.
- Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Nonprofit Management (preferred but not required), or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing social service programs or nonprofit operations.
- Demonstrated experience working with volunteers and coordinating community outreach efforts.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to treating clients and volunteers with dignity and respect.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management; familiarity with nonprofit software is a plus.
- Knowledge of local resources and services related to food security, housing, utilities, and healthcare assistance.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet program needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Abilities (English and Spanish or other languages common to the community).
- Certification in food handling or willingness to obtain.
Work Environment:
This role involves office work, interaction with clients and volunteers, and hands-on work in the food pantry and clothing department. Moderate lifting (up to 30 pounds) may be required.
