The Intake Coordinator is an integral member of the Workforce Development Department who supports in ensuring every client receives person-centered and accessible workforce services to meet their employment and income maximization goals. The Intake Coordinator gathers information from clients interested in increasing income to determine which Workforce Development Services would be the most beneficial. The Intake Coordinator works collaboratively with other departments and external referral agencies to support the client’s readiness for work. The Intake Coordinator will utilize their language skills to connect with all clients, both English and non-English speaking

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Triages new clients interested in seeking support to gain employment and increase income.
- Assists in the facilitation of weekly WFD Information Sessions and helps to facilitate follow up appointments and next steps for individual clients. Runs information sessions in Managers absence.
- Conducts intake interviews to educate clients on WFD services, determines which services would be the best fit, and supports clients in enrollment process.
- Conducts assessments and provides support necessary for clients to create an employment plan as needed.
- Collaborates with SFH programs and services to maximize referrals across departments. Conducts outreach and facilitates warm handoffs to and from internal departments.
- Collaborates with external partners referring clients to MAP and/or an employment coach.
- Provides clients with linkages and referrals to external resources as needed. Maintains resource guide of services that would support clients to address any barriers getting in the way of employment.
- Monitors Resource Room as assigned. Engage with individuals using the computers for workforce related tasks. Assists with logistics and educates about department services. Conducts intake interviews if appropriate.
- Works collaboratively with Managers and Program Assistant to track client’s interest and outcomes.
- Maintains timely and accurate documentation within the HMIS guest database system. Keeps accurate records of work with clients including updated contact information and updated progress notes.
- Adheres to agency code of conduct.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in English and Spanish
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of and commitment to taking a person-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approach.
- Proven ability to engage and support vulnerable individuals as well as motivate and guide them towards planning for and fulfilling short and long term goals.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Higher education in human services, counseling, or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a human services setting with working knowledge of coordinated care planning, intake assessment processes and/or employment counseling preferred.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations required.
- Lived experience of homelessness and/or recovery a plus.
