We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at St. Francis Indian School AKA Sicangu Oyate Ho Inc. in St. Francis, SD as a Special Education Elementary Paraprofessional. As a Special Education Elem Parapro, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs and support their educational journey.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs in the classroom setting
- Assist the Special Education teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support students with academic tasks, social skills development, and behavior management
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure the success of each student
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
