Job Summary
The Ultrasound Tech 2 performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical physiological, pathological, and anatomical data.
Key Responsibilities
- Produces ultrasound images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.
- Monitors and ensures safety of patient and staff.
- Performs patient screening by using established protocols.
- Utilizes departmental policy to perform safe operation of equipment and in all functions of the job.
- Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family.
- Able to evaluate competency level of others as preceptor.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of sonography or completion of an ultrasound program.
- American Registry of Diagnostic Sonography Registry, ARDMS, 1 Specialty Registries, Basic Life Support, BLS - HC
Schedule Information
Available to work a rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24-hour coverage of the Ultrasound Department.
Unit Specific Information
- Exhibits working knowledge of all Ultrasound equipment and procedures.
Additional Requirements
- Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer or Declination accepted.
- Must be one of the 3 mask fit types. N95- 3M 1860, 1860s or 1870 . Must be completed within 1 year prior to start. Updated annually.
- Proof of 3 immunizations, positive titer or Declination accepted.
- Flu Season dates to be communicated each year. Only Medical/Religious exemptions will be accepted with a physician's signature or written signed statement from traveler.
- Proof of negative Blood test or Skin test as described below.
