Job Overview
The goal of the Head Track and Field Coach is to instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a solid base knowledge of coaching and effectively leading a high school level sports team.
- Generate an attitude of good sportsmanship and fair play by being knowledgeable about the sport and policies/regulations.
- Promote the sport in a positive manner within the school system and also in the community.
- Responsible for maintaining good public relations with the booster club, support groups, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.
Experience
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and at the same time must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport and teaching of sports.
- Positive communication skills with all stakeholders.
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment trainings and requirements.
