St. Gregory the Great Catholic School in Plantation, Florida has an immediate opening for a full-time Administrative Assistant. This person will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school and assist in performing the daily tasks integral to the operations of the office. The applicant must be nurturing, creative and a dedicated professional with the ability to support the learning environment, cultivate critical thinking skills, work collaboratively as part of a team, assist parents and students in the office, answer the phone, and perform other clerical duties. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Qualifications:
- Provide a ministry of welcome, greeting, and service at the reception desk of the school.
- Answer phones, take messages, provide customer assistance, and direct queries to appropriate offices and personnel.
- Keep the reception area clean, orderly, and professional in appearance.
- High school diploma and 3 years’ clerical experience in a customer-service environment, church or Catholic school preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated history of maintaining strict confidentiality concerning files and sensitive information.
- Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
- Good time management, including ability to manage several projects at the same time with accuracy in an environment of competing deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher; good computer literacy.
- Rediker and Virtus compliance experience preferred.
- Good oral and written English-language communication skills, spelling and grammar required, including clear speaking voice.
- Oral and written Spanish communication skills a plus.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church and parish structures.
