What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Assistant: Conroe Health Center position at St. Hope Foundation?
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will be responsible for direct client care and administrative duties for primary care services with the specialty provider team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist to provide direct care services for specialty services (i.e., podiatry, psychiatry, nutrition).
- Follow-up on client referrals Assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks: check in, vitals, obtaining client history, assist with medical examinations.
- Performs routine procedures as injections, venipunctures and sterile dressing changes as directed by medical personnel.
- Perform medication inventory control checks.
- Perform essential work within Electronic Health Record system and program data entry systems with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to clients/caregivers regarding the services available.
- Other tasks/duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistance experience - one year minimum or proven volunteer history in the medical field; new grads encouraged to apply.
- Medical assistant training or equivalent clinical training
- Experience working in primary care or family practice setting.
- Good keyboard skills - 35 wpm
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Detailed oriented and organized.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Working Conditions:
- The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required.
- Must be willing to travel to Greenspoint Health Center
