JOB SUMMARY:
The Golf Course Starter/Marshal is responsible for personalized customer service, starting, monitoring pace of play and ensuring that Golf Course rules and policies are followed.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide the finest personalized customer service.
- Marshal the Golf Course; monitor pace of play, encourage groups who fall out of position to speed up pace. Concerns, contact Professional on duty.
- Greet players on the driving range and/or tee box. When addressing members, do so in a respectful manner. (Stand up out of cart when members approach/be attentive and ready to help).
- Work directly with all Golf Operations staff to accurately record and report tee times, changes, cancellations and cart usage.
- Record names and cart numbers of all Members and their guests who play each day.
- Enforce all Club policies as they pertain to Golf Operations.
- Be proactive. This means you are not to be on your phone unless of an emergency, etc.
- All other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Often required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch
- Ability to lift boxes and/or objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Present a positive, professional image
- Self motivated and customer service oriented
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
