What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Floater position at St. James Early Learning Center?
The applicant must be comfortable and willing to work with all age groups, including infancy- school-age children. Floaters can be assigned to multiple classrooms as needed, and assignments can change daily according to the needs of the Early Learning Center.
Floaters are to support the teaching staff in their time of absence by performing various tasks throughout the classroom. Supporting classroom teachers with classroom responsibilities, supervising children, maintaining classroom routine, implementing activities, helping to serve meals, caring for diapering and bathroom procedures and cleaning.
General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to apply early childhood development theories in daily classroom activities and facilitate appropriate outcomes for individual children.
Ability to be flexible with work assignments and work schedules.
Must be able to work and maintain high standards of professional ethics with persons of different racial, ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Minimum of one (1) year experience with children.
Must pass all PA-required background checks.
