The AIT Program is a full-time, multi-month program in which the AIT obtains practical on-the-job training in a nursing home or assisted living environment under the direct supervision of an experienced Administrator preceptor / mentor. This is an intensive on-the-job training program designed for individuals seeking initial licensure as a Skilled Nursing Home Administrator.
The training program includes : Rotations in all the departments and duties in a skilled nursing facility; education on the relationships of the facility with outside parties and government agencies and a study of regulations associated with the operation of a skilled nursing facility. Other components include Business Management, developing financial acumen, risk management, compliance, marketing and customer service.
AIT candidates must meet the minimum regulatory requirements for licensure in Texas as outlined by the State of Texas.
