Responsibilities:
- Enter lab orders accurately into the LIS computer system.
- Collect blood and urine samples from patients, adhering to safety protocols.
- Handle lab specimens properly, including labeling and distribution.
- Assist with off-site venipuncture collections.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, restocking supplies as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Support departmental goals and objectives.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Certificate completion of a certified Phlebotomy course is preferred.
- Experience working in a laboratory setting is desired.
- Certification as a Phlebotomist is preferred.
- BLS certification is required.
