St. Joan of Arc School in Chicopee, Massachusetts is seeking a dedicated educator to serve as principal and to lead the school community. The successful individual will strive to achieve the fullest attainment of the school’s unique mission and the educational mission, integration of faith and culture within the school, successful academic and student programs and for the effective management of the business and development affairs of the school and school community.
The school currently serves 197 students from preschool through grade eight and is a parish-operated Catholic elementary and middle school. The Principal, in consultation with the Pastor, ensures the maintenance of the school’s Catholic identity and mission, coordinates faith community affairs and religious instruction programs. As leader, this individual upholds and models a moral code that is consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and the mission and charism of the school and parish.
As instructional leader, the principal ensures overall quality of the academic programs and policies of the school and provides professional development including school and individual plans necessary for continued accreditation and advancement of the school and its faculty and staff. While coordinating and communicating clear instructional goals for the school, the principal oversees ongoing assessment of the religious, academic, social, physical and emotional needs of the students.
