What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Pharmacy Fellow position at St. John Fisher University?
The Public Health Pharmacy Fellowship is a collaborative training program between the Wegmans School of Pharmacy (WSOP) and the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (URMC). It is designed to provide pharmacists with a comprehensive, hands-on training experience in various areas including patient care, community-based initiatives, public health research, advocacy, and more.

Program Highlights:
· Model of Collective Advantage: Incorporates pharmacists into key areas of public health initiatives, enhancing learning while utilizing pharmacists as leaders and collaborators.
· Direct Patient Care and Clinical Activities: Provide comprehensive, patient- and family-centered clinical pharmacy services at a URMC ambulatory care site, participate in interdisciplinary patient care team rounds, and assist with community health initiatives.
· Research and Scholarship: Engage in community-based research, design and implement original research projects, collaborate on grants, and present at national meetings.
· Teaching, Precepting, and Mentoring: Co-precept and mentor pharmacy students, teach lectures on clinical and public health topics, and participate in the Teaching and Learning Curriculum Certificate Program.
· Professional Development and Advocacy: Develop a professional development plan, participate in leadership activities, attend local and national conferences, and engage in advocacy efforts.
· Global Health Opportunities: Participate (optional / as interested) in international service trips, help run pharmacies during medical clinics, and work with a team of healthcare professionals on various public health efforts.
