Job Description
St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Miami, Florida is seeking a passionate and mission-driven Director of Religious Education (DRE) to help form disciples and deepen the faith of our parish community. This position plays a vital role in developing and implementing lifelong catechesis, supporting children, youth, and adults in their journey of faith.At St. John Neumann, prayer, teamwork, and discipleship are at the heart of everything we do. The candidate performs duties and responsibilities in alignment with the vision, mission, and values of the Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and oversee comprehensive faith formation programs for children, youth, and families.
Coordinate sacramental preparation for First Communion, Confirmation, and RCIA for children.
Recruit and train catechists and volunteers.
Foster a culture of family catechesis and work closely with the parish leadership to integrate catechesis into the larger mission of the parish.
Qualifications:
Practicing Catholic in good standing, committed to the Church's mission.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in theology, religious studies, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Experience in parish faith formation, catechesis, or youth ministry.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Google Workspace and digital tools for ministry.
Must have a professional demeanor.
