Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all occupants. This position involves various cleaning tasks in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, ensuring that facilities are well-kept and functional.
Primary Focus of Position: Open church on Sundays for worship. Provide set up for classes, events and refreshments following services. Secure church following activities. Work two half day Saturdays per month. Essential Responsibilities of the Job
- Open church and campus for Sunday worship.
- Check grounds for trash or debris prior to services
- Set up and clean up for refreshments.
- Assist with special event set up as needed.
- Check for cleanliness of bathrooms and empty trash, sweep or vacuum, and restock as needed
- Able to work on Easter and Christmas or other holidays that may fall on Sundays
- Present a neat appearance and friendly demeanor to parishioners
- Open the campus two Saturdays a month for morning activities and perform tasks as assigned.
Competencies for the Job
- Ability to thoroughly perform tasks in a timely manner. * Ability to assist parishioners and visitors as needed including homeless individuals who mayrequire assistance. * Ability to accept direction and work well with others.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Ability to sweep, vacuum, lift heavy trash bags, mop, climb stairs
- Ability to lift and move tables, chairs and stage sections for set up as needed
- Ability to lift boxes as needed
- Hours: Sundays 7:00am – 1:00pm or longer as needed; plus, two Saturdays per month8:30am – 12:30pm or longer as needed.
