Responsibilities
Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med/Surg Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit, ensuring the best possible outcomes and maintaining the hospital’s standards of excellence.Key Responsibilities:• Deliver direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians in the medical-surgical unit.• Administer medications, perform wound care, monitor vital signs, and carry out physician orders accurately.• Assist with patient assessments, document patient conditions, and update care plans accordingly.• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring patients are informed and comfortable.• Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and post-discharge care.• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.• Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies.
