Worship Production Assistant (part-time, approx. 3 hours, 1-2 times per month)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Worship Production Assistant ensures the sound, video and livestreaming of St. John’s worship services are delivered at a high level of quality. Working under the supervision of the Worship Production Coordinator, they will further St. John’s purpose and vision by enhancing the worship experience for all people attending, both in person and online.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as the primary backup to the Worship Production Coordinator when they are unavailable Sunday mornings
2. Ensure audio and video is broadcast to the Sanctuary, Chapel, Weertz, and Choir loft, as needed
3. Prepare necessary equipment and operate sound board during worship services
4. Ensure Sunday morning livestream is live and offers a high-quality worship service
5. Lead audio, video and livestreaming for special services based on availability, including Christmas Eve, Holy Week, and Wednesday during Lent
INTERACTIONS
- Reports to the Worship Production Coordinator
- Works alongside volunteers from the congregation
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
· Experience running and maintaining professional sound board equipment
· Experience with live video production, including how it relates to camera composition
· Collaboratively works in a team environment with members, staff and volunteers
· Ability to learn and use technical equipment, including audio mixers, video switcher and camera controller
· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and Pro Presenter
· Willingness to learn new technology and skills to enhance St. John’s worship experience
· Knowledge of the faith practices of the ELCA
Qualifications
· Experience working in a church or non-profit environment desirable
· A commitment to actively promoting an inclusive and welcoming community and to work for racial equity and justice
