St. John’s Parish Day School is seeking applicants for Before and Aftercare Staff. The ideal candidate will be able to enthusiastically supervise groups of Aftercare students ages 3, 4, 5 or grades 1–5. Responsibilities include supervising groups up to either fifteen (15) early childhood students or thirty (30) lower school students in recreational play, free play, homework time, and arts/crafts. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and hard-working.

Responsibilities

*Completing the Child Supervision Records for assigned group. *Completing snack records for assigned group. *Supervise assigned group. *Monitor group space for hazards or safety concerns. *Facilitate enrichment activities by ensuring participants are delivered to the correct classroom space on time and returned to group at the conclusion of the activity. *Plan and facilitate activities, such as craft/art projects, games, story-time, etc. *Supervise and assist with homework (Lower School only). *Other duties as requested or assigned by the Auxiliary Programs Director or After School Program Coordinator. *Completing all pre-employment forms and requirements. *Accurately completing and submitting time-sheets. *Observing all SJPDS and Auxiliary Program Policies. *Reporting all concerns to the Director of Auxiliary Programs or After School Program Coordinator.
Qualifications

*16 years old (to meet State of Maryland LOC Requirements). *Comfortable working with students ages 3 – 5th grade and peer staff. *Ability to exercise sound judgment, reliable, and responsible decision-making. *Ability to lift and maneuver equipment and supplies up to ten (10) lbs. *Previous experience working with children, especially in recess, P.E. camp, or child-care setting (is preferred). *Current Red Cross (or comparable) First Aid and CPR Certificate (is preferred)

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $16.00 - $19.00/hour.
