Responsibilities
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining and controls all supply/equipment acquisitions and inventory for the Facility and/or Department to which they are assigned for coverage in addition to the Supply Chain perpetual inventory locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Designs, standardizes layout, and maintains all supply inventory systems, including Meditech Par forms and Automated Inventory Systems such as Pyxis supply, located within the assigned department or facility. (Ensures all items are labeled correctly and pars are accurate based on department needs.2. Coordinates all product acquisitions in conjunction with Supply Chain polies and procedures (Processing all non-stock and stock requisitions for ED/ICU, OR and/OR Perpetual Inventory locations (Stores, Exchange, Dobbs) in accordance with SJRH Purchasing Approval policy and Procedure).3. Maintains developed par levels through ordering and restocking, of all necessary supplies in all assigned locations, including Pyxis machines as per Supply Chain policies and procedures, utilizing Meditech to decrement inventory, place orders and receive PO’s. 4. Assures equipment availability as required in all assigned areas and functioning of said equipment in all assigned areas. Reports any malfunction or need for repair to the appropriate department head.5. Keeps Clinical leadership and Supply Chain leadership aware of equipment repairs, supply room inventory concerns and various other department requirements if any.6. Follows policies and procedures for all applicable Distribution functions as needed including but not limited to breaking down and discarding empty boxes from the storeroom and maintaining neat and orderly supply areas to par. 7. Receives inventory into Meditech and distributes as required for assigned departments. 8. Follows St. John’s Riverside Hospital attendance policy. 9. Regular attendance and timeliness are required in your job. This includes the following: (1) being at your work station ready for work by the start of your shift (2) taking only the time allowed for breaks (3) remaining at work during your entire shift, unless excused by a supervisor (4) leaving promptly at the end of your shift, unless you have been given advance permission from your supervisor to work past that point; and (5) calling in and personally notifying your supervisor or another member of management if you are going to be either absent or tardy, unless a verifiable emergency makes it impossible for you to do so.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Follow through with assigned duties. Respond thoroughly to emails and requests for supplies. Must be computer literate and fully functional with applications such as Outlook, Excel and Meditech MM Modules. 2 years minimum Healthcare Supply Chain experience required
