Football Coach

Located in Holmdel, New Jersey, Saint John Vianney High School serves families from Monmouth, Middlesex, and Ocean Counties. JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student-athletes so that they will develop an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork and develop football skills. The Head Football Coach will work under the supervision of the athletic director in accordance with St. John Vianney High School’s strategic mission.

Important information:

1. This is a fall-season stipend position.

2. Salary depends on years’ experience per the SJV coach's step scale.

3. There is no Faculty/Staff position connected or available with this position at the current time, it is a seasonal stipend position.

· February 3rd - after 1:30 PM

· February 4th - after 5 PM

· February 10th - after 5 PM

· February 12th - 8:30 AM

· February 14th - 1-4 PM

Qualifications:

• Commitment to the Catholic mission, core values, and goals of Saint John Vianney.
• Demonstrated experience (preferred) or communicable understanding of Catholic schools as it relates to admission, marketing, tuition, and financial aid.
• Verifiable representation of developing young men through the sport of football.
• Previous high school Varsity Head Football Coaching/college coaching experience preferred.
• Previous collegiate Football playing experience preferred.
• Experience in marketing a program and athletes through the use of social and other media.
• Proven success in marketing, guiding, opening doors, and placing athletes into college through a network of personal college coach relationships preferred.
• Progressive experience with technology for athlete performance, football scouting, practice preparation, and teaching athletes.
• Demonstrated understanding of concussions, player, and return-to-play protocols.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mental health concerns of high school athletes in 2025.
• Proven experience in managing parents, parental expectations, and parental involvement.
• Complete knowledge of NJSIAA rules and policies.
• NJ Substitute/Standard Teaching Certificate Fingerprinting/Background checks.
• Current Emergency or Standard First Aid, CPR/AED Certification.
• Must be well organized with strong interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills and able to work collaboratively and develop effective relationships with the community, faculty, students, and staff.
