Job Posting: Long-Term Substitute – Grade 1 Classroom Teacher
Position Duration: Mid-August through Early November 2025
St. John Vianney Catholic School is a joyful, faith-filled K–8 school in Wyoming, Michigan, dedicated to helping students grow in mind, body, and spirit. We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and committed long-term substitute teacher to lead our first-grade classroom during a maternity leave from mid-August through early November.
The ideal candidate is someone who brings warmth, structure, and a love of early elementary education to their teaching. We're looking for an individual who can maintain a nurturing and faith-centered environment, provide continuity in instruction, and work collaboratively with colleagues and parents. Experience in Catholic education is a plus, but not required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education (required)
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate (preferred)
- Experience working with primary-aged children
- Practicing Catholic or supportive of Catholic teachings and traditions
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Willingness to support and uphold the mission of Catholic education
