Under the direction of a CMO/Nurse Manager, the lead LVN provides care to patients in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and courteous manner following established policies and protocols. The LVN contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through techniques that support and achieve positive outcomes in patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: (Preferred)
- A minimum of 2 years actual work nursing experience, such as: emergency room, pediatric office, or hospital care.
- Graduate of an accredited LVN program
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills – Word, Excel, Outlook
- E.H.R– Electronic Health Records (Preferred)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employees are responsible for maintaining individual certifications as required by job function or by law and provide verification and recertification when requested by management.
Performs a combination, but not necessarily all, of the following duties:
Administrative
- Perform and report audits findings per CMO/NM as scheduled.
- Prepare training material as the need arises and be prepared to educate and update the team.
- Assists NM and CMO with LVN interviewing, prescreening, and selection.
- Provides LVN orientation to clinic environment on process and procedures.
- When called upon provides feedback for performance evaluations and quality of patient care.
- Oversees quality compliance for LVN’s and MA’s
- Coordinates schedules work and vacation for LVN’s
- Supervisory/Quality control component of MA’s
- Report and assist with any collecting information to support disciplinary action.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Triage of patients, in collaboration with lead clinician, to expedite waiting patients or overbook walk-in patients based on medical urgency.
- Oversight of rapid HIV, including quality assurance and competency training for MAs
- Wound care.
- Provide guidance and counseling to clinical staff to ensure efficient coverage of clinical area.
- Assist provider with minor surgery/as needed.
- Follow policies and procedures relating to patient flow, customer service, and compliance with regulations pertaining to clinical area.
- Communicate with front and back office to facilitate patient flow.
- Ensure medication ordering for the clinic is complete and the logbooks have no discrepancies.
- Ensure the meds for the clinic are being ordered in a timely manner and old medications are discarded according to protocol.
- Ensures that calibrations are completed in a timely fashion and are done properly.
- Facilitate CMR for STD Reporting/Report CMR/STD to the state/keep up with the logbook.
- Call patients in for treatment for STD’s as requested by provider.
- Facilitates clinicians’ response to critical labs by coordinating charts and calling patients as needed.
- Takes vitals and reviews patient history; support MA as they do the same role.
- Review medical paperwork for completeness before patient leaves the clinic.
- Takes responsibility for storing medical paperwork.
