What are we looking for?

The Transportation Coordinator will oversee the management of a fleet of vehicles, dispatch for transportation services. Ensuring efficient operation and adherence to regulations. This role involves maintaining vehicle registrations, scheduling and coordinating services, managing staff, ensuring driver license compliance, billing Medicaid/private payment for services rendered and possessing comprehensive vehicle knowledge.

Your overall essential responsibilities will be the following:

• Manage and maintain the fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are operational and compliant with regulations.
• Maintain up-to-date vehicle registrations and insurance documentation.
• Schedule and coordinate vehicle services, including routine maintenance and repairs.
• Oversee transportation staff, including drivers, dispatchers, and administrative personnel.
• Ensure all drivers possess valid licenses and comply with driving regulations.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for safe and efficient transportation operations.
• Monitor vehicle usage and fuel consumption to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet transportation needs and ensure timely service delivery.
• Handle billing and invoicing for transportation services provided to Medicaid beneficiaries.
• Utilize comprehensive vehicle knowledge to troubleshoot issues, assess maintenance needs, and make informed decisions regarding fleet management.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers, providing them with necessary instructions, updates, and any changes in routes or schedules. Also, liaise with consumers to gather transportation requests, provide status updates, and address inquiries.
• Monitor vehicle movements in real-time using GPS tracking systems, identifying and addressing any delays, detours, or emergencies promptly.
• Interact with consumers to gather transportation requests, provide status updates on deliveries, and address any concerns or inquiries in a professional manner.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver logs, delivery schedules, consumer communications, and feedback.
• Act swiftly to resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during transportation operations, ensuring minimal disruption to service and consumer satisfaction.

You will catch our eye if you have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Associate Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• Valid Drivers License. (Driving record Required)
• Previous experience in transportation management or a related field.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with billing procedures, preferably Medicaid billing.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.

Extra credit will be given if you have the following experience, education, and requirements:

• Certification in transportation management or related field.
• Experience working with Medicaid billing systems.
• Familiarity with fleet management software.
• Leadership experience in supervising transportation staff.
• Working Conditions:
• This position primarily operates in an office environment but may require 25% travel to oversee transportation operations.
• Work hours may vary, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate transportation needs.

All SJCS employees must:

• Obtain a valid health certificate to meet SJCS or current funding authority requirements as required.
• Meet SJCS and the funding authority requirement of criminal background and record checks.

Physical and environmental conditions include:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Able to use a keyboard.
• Speaking on the phone or in virtual meetings for prolonged periods.
• Working alone or with a team.

The hiring range for this position ranges from $58,000-$62,000 annually, depending on experience.
