St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an entry level candidate to serve as an Administrative Assistant for our well-established Solid Waste Division in the Public Works Department located in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida. The newly selected Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing customer service utilizing our inbound call center and administrative support for Solid Waste operations.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The ideal Administrative Assistant candidate must possess one to three years of experience providing customer service, share St. Johns County’s core values of compassion, innovation, and trustworthiness and must work well in a collaborative team environment. Some of the specific tasks include but are not limited to: Provides information and referral services regarding the St. Johns County Solid Waste Division.Processes incoming and outgoing mail, as well as other communications.Answers phones. Processes service requests: takes information from customer, relays programmatic information to customers, builds service requests and forwards information to contractor for resolution. Follows up with customers once contractor has addressed issue. Alerts and makes recommendations to supervisor for additional action items if non-satisfactory response.Assists with the preparation of documents (may include but not limited to minutes, correspondence, legal advertisements, notary public services, fee collection, and forms, agendas or reports for other County departments).Provides support for community outreach programs.Provides data entry and record maintenance for countywide database systems (both electronic and paper files) which may include but is not limited to employee records, payroll records, and the use of Countywide systems for PANs, project records, accounts payable/receivable, supply orders, work orders, PRIDE, WATS, or MIS help desk.May provide general support to other Solid Waste staff as assigned.Maintains a full-time presence on the job.Performs other duties as assigned.
