Work Location: 180 Marine Street, COA Main Kitchen
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates the commercial dishwasher. Performs a variety of kitchen duties for the Meals On Wheels, Congregate dining program and Special Functions.
- Follow and perform duties on weekly task chart.
- Wash pot, pans, and dining room dishes.
- Clean tilt skillets, stove-tops, ovens, and various kitchen equipment.
- Take out trash and boxes to the dumpster.
- Sweep and mop dish room daily.
- Assist with sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchen areas.
- Assist with plating and packaging meals as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all COA policies and procedures
Qualifications and Work Experience Requirements:
- One-year kitchen experience preferred.
- Able to read understand and follow directions using basic math.
- Able to operate various kitchen equipment
- Must be able to work under pressure and maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within Supervisors instruction parameters, recommended procedures and accepted practices
- Certified Food Handler (within 90 days of employment)
- High school diploma or GED
- Reliable Transportation
- Driver’s License or Florida State ID
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with meeting qualitative and/or measurable productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the COA policy
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently.
- Must be able to operate machinery and equipment safely
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to listen and speak clearly
- Must be able to work with chemicals examples include but not limited to bleach, dish detergent, and lime away,
