Job Summary: St. Johns High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School English Teacher to join our team. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Valid and Current Arizona Teaching Certification in Secondary Education (or actively working toward obtaining one).
- Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required).
- English teaching experience (preferred).

Strong knowledge of language arts content and pedagogy.

Willing and qualified to teach dual-enrollment college level English courses in the high school (preferred).

Reports to: Principal
Responsibilities:
- Teach several high school English/Language Arts classes, which may include any of the following: English 9, 10, 11, 12, Honors, ELA 9/10, ELA 11/12, English Skills, College English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Yearbook, etc.
- Planning and Preparation:
- Consistently plan instruction/activities using the state standards, effective strategies, resource, and data to meet the needs of all students.
- Learning Environment:
- Use resources, routines and procedures to provide a respectful, positive, safe, student-centered learning environment.
- Instructional Skills:
- Use effective instructional delivery strategies and engages students in higher-order thinking skills.
- Provide individualized instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine instructional practices and curriculum.
- Professionalism:
- Maintain a commitment to professional ethics, communicate effectively, demonstrate an understanding of the curriculum, subject content and the developmental needs of students, and take responsibility for and participate in professional growth that results in enhanced student learning.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in math education.
- Contribute to the school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, committees, and events.
- Other duties:
- The teacher performs other duties as assigned by the principal and superintendent.
Evaluation: The teacher is evaluated by the building principal as outlined in state law and board policy.
Salary : $42,000 - $53,000
