Job Details
A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ICU nurse for a travel contract.
The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience.
Job Requirements
Hold an active BLS certification.
Hold an active ACLS certification.
Hold an active NIHSS certification.
Hold an active California License.
Must have at least 3 years' experience in the ICU.
Travel experience is preferred.
Schedule Information
12 hr shifts, 7am-7 : 30pm, 7pm-7 : 30am.
Self scheduling but not always guaranteed.
Weekend Requirement : every other weekend.
Holidays : typically required to do one major and one minor.
Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : Yes - on call after hours, hospitalist is shared between SJRMC and SJPVH
RT 24 / 7 : Yes
Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes
Additional Details
Unit : ICU & CCU
beds : 20 beds
Ratios : 1 to 2, may be 1 to 1
Charge Nurse : Yes
Nurse Aides : Yes - one on from 5-5 : 30pm, they will do blood draws, ekg's and other tech duties
Scrub Color : Navy
Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Neuro surgery - craniotomies, carotids, ventriculostomies, ICP monitoring, open heart, post caths, impellas, balloon pumps - travelers can take if they have experience and can validate skills, NO CRRT OR ECMO
Floating : Yes - they will have to float to IMCU (stepdown) or Observation
Floor specific orientation : 3 shifts of orientation
