Job Title: Technical Support Specialist
Summary
This role provides technical assistance to computer system users, answering questions and resolving problems for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up equipment for employee use, ensuring proper installation of hardware, cables, operating systems, and software.
- Interact with the College IT Help Desk to document and resolve technical problems and issues.
- Develop training materials and procedures, and train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
- Analyze information to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation in written or electronic form.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, software, and backups.
Requirements
- Knowledge of various types of computer operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Mac.
- Knowledge of local area networks and communications equipment.
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to maintain professional communications with people inside and outside the College environment.
- Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Education and Experience
This position requires an Associate's degree and a minimum of one year of experience working in a technical computer support position.
