Position Summary
The Charge Nurse assists residents to attain and maintain optimal functional status by contributing to the development and implementation of the nursing care delivery system. Ensures care meets all standards of care as set forth by St. Joseph Senior Living.
Reports to the Director of Nursing.
Skills and Abilities:
Must have a working knowledge of quality, geriatric nursing care. Good verbal and written communication and the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Must maintain confidentiality and the ability to prioritize to ensure good time management.
Education and/or Experience:
Currently licensed in the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. BLS certification through American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire. Skilled nursing care experience desirable. Must be computer literate to complete task(s) are required.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides direct nursing care to residents in their assigned area, following general nursing practices.
- Communicates changes in resident condition with appropriate persons (i.e. family, physician, supervisor).
- Assists in the development of resident care plans and ensures that care plan is followed.
- Ensures care provided by STNA’s is effective.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or RN Manager.

Currently licensed in the State of Ohio as a Licensed Practical Nurse. BLS certification through American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire. Skilled nursing care experience desirable. Must be computer literate to complete task(s) are required. Training in IV administration preferred but will train.
Salary : $26 - $30
