Position Summary
An STNA assists residents to attain and maintain optimal functional status by contributing to the development and implementation of the nursing care delivery system. Ensures that care provided meets all standards of care as set forth by St. Joseph Senor Living while working under the supervision of a registered or licensed practical nurse.
Skills and Abilities:
Must have working knowledge of quality, geriatric nursing care. Good verbal and written communication and the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Must maintain confidentiality and have the ability to prioritize to ensure good time management.
Education and/or Experience:
Must have a valid/active STNA certification in the state of Ohio. Must comply with continuing education hours to keep certification up to date. CPR certification is desired.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Follows established Resident’s individualized plans of care under the general direction of the Charge Nurse.
- Provides care of activities of daily living (ADL’s) to residents which may include, but not limited to:
- Mobility functions
- Grooming functions
- Dining functions
- Toileting functions
- Busing and cleaning dining table in your assigned division.
- Return dirty dining carts to kitchen.
- Follows established detailed individualized restorative STNA functions under direction of nursing.
- Documents all care, interventions and events in patients record.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing/Supervisor and Administration.

Qualifications

Completion or enrollment in State Approved Nurse Aid Training and Competency evaluation program; High school Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, not required. Previous experience in working in a nursing home/long term care and in working with elders preferred; Graduation of State Approved Training Program and successful completion of Nurse Aide examination to be a State Tested Nurse Aide preferred.
Salary : $18 - $20
