St. Joseph's Catholic Academy is looking to add a positive, flexible, and Faith centered Latin Teacher. St. Joseph's endeavors to build a community which represents the best of our Catholic identity while nurturing learners to the promise we see in each of them. The Latin Teacher provides detailed lesson plans and guides students as they progress in the learning of the language. The Latin Teacher reports to the principal, and is an extension of our team as we interact with the community. This job is a fulltime position.
Responsibilities:
- Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of St. Joseph Catholic Academy.
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Support and adhere to the Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school.
- Follow instruction set by classroom teacher with logically sequenced objectives based on adopted curriculum.
- Provide appropriate material and resources for students to engage in learning.
- Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom.
- Maintain current and accurate records according to school policies.

- Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church
- Knowledge of instructional methods/strategies and curriculum differentiation
- Able to work well with others in the school community
- Ability to manage student behavior in classroom setting.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- College Degree Preferred
- Experience teaching Latin
Certifications and Training:
- Valid Texas driver's license.
- Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
- Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCED.
