Incumbent serves as customer service representative for the parks, assisting patrons in the canoe/kayak rental operation.
Responsibilities
Assist patrons with canoe/kayak and paddleboard rentals.
Assisting with the preparation and transportation of rental equipment between Keller Park, St. Patrick’s County Park, and the Niles. MI public landing.
Assist with the handling of monies and required rental paperwork.
Clean and store park vessels and equipment.
Qualifications
Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Must be able to work with others in a fast-paced environment.
Education/Experience
Must be at least 15 years of age and be enrolled in high school or possess a high school diploma or GED.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Experience with a cash register and credit card machine is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Incumbent performs duties involving varying weather conditions, sitting/standing/walking for long periods, sitting/walking at will, pushing/pulling objects, bending, reaching, crouching/kneeling, close/far vision, color depth perception, hearing sounds/communication, speaking clearly, handling/grasping objects. Incumbent maintains considerable contact with the public and may be exposed to irate/difficult persons.
Must have the ability to lift objects of 50 lbs. or more, including carrying objects up a slope.
