Incumbent serves as Court Reporter/ Stenographer for the St. Joseph Probate Court, responsible for recording proceedings of the Probate Court.

Responsibilities
Acts as the Judge/ Magistrate’s full-time court reporter and assists as necessary with secretarial duties for all purposes related to the work of the Magistrate of the Court’s Juvenile Division.
Prepare Chronological Case Summary entries and Orders in the Quest Case Management System.
Prepare Courtroom Recording System for Hearings and Log Sheets of Courtroom Proceedings using FTR Gold System.
Prepare/ maintain schedules for all Judge/ Magistrate hearings.
Provide summaries to staff of delinquency hearings heard by Judge/ Magistrate.
Qualifications
Ability to use dictating equipment for transcription of court proceedings.
Knowledge of clerical procedures used in maintaining a filing system and keeping records.
Tact in dealing with the public over the telephone and in person.
Ability to type with speed and accuracy.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer word processing skills including use of WordPerfect.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma
Previous experience as a court reporter/ stenographer
