Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

License : Licensed by the State of Texas - Occupational Therapist

Certifications : Healthcare Provider BLS

Must-Have : General acute care experience, including critical care; NICU experience is beneficial but not required

Job Description :

• Required to float between two campuses approximately 16 minutes apart, as needed.
• Treat an average of 8-10 patients per day with the expectation of 1 completed evaluation per hour worked.
• Responsible mostly for evaluations; however, if treatments are given, the expectation is 1.25 completed treatments per hour worked.
• Provide coverage in general acute care hospital settings, including telemetry, oncology, critical care, neuro, orthopedic, surgical, and general medical units.
• Possible occasional coverage for NICU, for trained and experienced therapists.
• Supervise rehab techs and occasionally Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
• Work according to the required shift schedule of 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm with a 30-minute lunch.
• Alternating Saturday requirement, with compensation days provided to maintain a 5-day workweek.
• Meet holiday staffing needs as required.
• Adhere to dress code with maroon scrubs, not provided by the employer.
• Complete department-specific orientation, which may last up to 9 days depending on experience.
• Utilize the MEDITECH charting system.
• Support the department's goals while maintaining professional development and team collaboration.
