St. Joseph Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking an experienced Scheduler!
The Scheduler functions are under the direction of the Executive Director and Director of Nursing, assisting with daily office operations including maintaining patient records, printing medical records as requested from EMR, attaching documents to the Patients chart in EMR and scheduling staff in EMR system.

Essential duties include:
- Creating and maintaining clinical schedules according to authorizations, patients needs and clinician availability
- Scheduling of patient and clinical team activities/visits
- Assisting with patient, staff, physician and referral source phone calls
- Processing referrals
- Assisting with billing functions
- Assisting with inventory on clinical documentation and medical supplies
- Ensures confidentiality and professionalism is maintained when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Perform general office duties such as computer work, operating office machines, and EMR daily workflow
- Ensures documents flow in a coordinated and efficient manner
- Contacts care providers and clients regarding day-to-day changes
- Maintain HHA staff board
- Manage skills related to scheduling
- Assist with medical records
Qualifications:
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
- HCHB experience required
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Must have excellent oral communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented, ability to work independently and possess good time management skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated computer proficiency using medical software programs, Microsoft Word and Excel
- At least one year of experience in clinical records/medical records operations on the electronic medical record chart
