Beacon Healthcare Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Wound Care Nurse position in our St. Joseph, MO location. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, cool-tempered, and will have experience in providing specialized care related to wound care, assessments according to regulatory guidelines. Must be organized and able to follow timelines for required assessments and report to the Director of Nursing. Preferred License; Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Pay rate based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Record patients’ medical history accurately
- Coordinate Wound Care in association with Physician, Director of Nursing or Wound consultants.
- Update care plans with current treatments orders
- Complete assessments and document on wound care report and provide to Director of Nursing and designee.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
- Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions.
- Direct staff as necessary
Skills
- Proven experience as RN or LPN
- Experience with the Wound Care
- Experience in long-term care settings with federal and state regulations.
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work with a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with hospital health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and able to handle stress
- Successful completion of RN/LPN license program is required
- BLS certification preferred
- A true passion for caring for the elderly

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
