Responsibilities
Role:
Bereavement Counselor under the Director of Hospice, the Bereavement Coordinator is responsible for implementing and managing the bereavement program and for the delivery of related services and education.
Understanding of physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and their caregivers.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include some evenings for support groups.
Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Understanding of the grief process, crisis intervention and group dynamics required.
Demonstrated ability to complete treatment/service assessments, document plan of care, provide and evaluate service is required.
Ability to manage multiple programs and public speaking ability required.
Administrative skills and computer competency required.
Qualifications
Education/Experience requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, counseling or related field or pastoral education with documented evidence of training and experience in grief therapy and bereavement counseling.
