This role requires an individual who is adaptable, organized, and capable of providing both administrative support and direct patient care within a fast-paced ER environment.
Responsibilities:
Unit Coordinator Duties:
- Patient Flow Management: Efficiently manage the flow of patients within the emergency room by coordinating with medical staff and ensuring timely transport of patients to various areas or departments.
- Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external communication, handling phone calls and relaying messages accurately to the appropriate personnel.
- Documentation: Maintain patient records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital standards and regulations.
- Administrative Support: Assist in the organization of staff schedules, meetings, and coordination of resources to ensure smooth ER operations.
- Direct Patient Care: Provide compassionate and attentive care to patients, including basic nursing care such as bathing, feeding, and mobilizing patients.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly monitor and record vital signs, reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff promptly.
- Assistance with Procedures: Support nurses and physicians during medical procedures by preparing equipment and providing necessary assistance.
- Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work environment, ensuring sterilization of equipment and disposal of waste according to protocols.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
- Current BLS upon hire and maintain current.
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
