Job Overview
St Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in a skilled nursing environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs while maintaining a clean and safe dining environment. This position requires strong time management skills and a commitment to customer service, as you will be interacting with residents and staff daily.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, bussing tables, and cleaning equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations during food production and handling.
- Support the dietary team in planning menus that accommodate residents' dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with residents during meal times and addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and stocking supplies as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food production or food preparation is preferred, especially in an assisted living or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of dietetics and food safety practices is a plus.
- Strong time management skills to ensure timely meal service.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
