Position Summary

The Operations Support Coordinator (OSC) is one of the primary supportive components to the medical staff credentialing process in the health system. This position supports the Medical Staff Services Director, Medical Staff Services Manager, and Credentialing Coordinators in credentialing and regulatory related tasks to help maintain ongoing compliance, and provides additional assistance to the Medical Affairs office when needed. The OSC serves as a vital resource to the Medical Staff for services related to credentialing and other medical staff matters. This position provides clerical support for various key functions.

Core Job Functions
- Name badges and orientation packets are printed following proper guidelines upon request, and prepared for orientation as needed.
- Greets physicians and other customers in the department, manages the main telephone line and directs communications to the appropriate staff member. Assists other hospitals/health systems with obtaining accurate primary source verification of medical staff membership & privileges with our health system.
- Assists practitioners and their office staff with requests for information, as appropriate. Provides other support to medical staff and department as necessary to maintain the office.
- Communicates with practitioners regarding delinquent/expiring items; performs primary source verification; updates information in MDStaff, scans paper documentation and reports expired items to the Manager/Director for further action. Maintains timely filing of confidential/sensitive reappointment and initial information in paper files (to include board letters).
- Responsible for provider termination process by maintaining resignation list, notifying appropriate parties, removing providers from badging system, archiving paper files, and archiving in MDstaff. Produces, reviews and maintains OIG regulatory exclusion report monthly, and reports results to Legal/Compliance annually, and upon request.
- Maintains ED call schedules and other rosters and reports as assigned. Has working knowledge of the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and Joint Credentials Manual. Participates in cross-training of other personnel in the department and serves as a back-up to others in the department when needed.

Prepare and distribute correspondences as needed, order office supplies, receive and distribute mail to include data entry of dues checks received, and assist office staff as needed to include committee meeting preparation.
