The job of a Respite Provider is to support individuals with Intellectual or Developmental disabilities for one or more continuous days either in the client's home or in the staff's home. Respite Services provides a short break for families who care for loved ones with intellectual disabilities. Respite staff are responsible for providing and/or preparing meals and caring for the supported individual during this time.
This is a contract position with flexible scheduling based on the needs of the client.
Staff are reimbursed $175 per 24 hour period.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Provides transportation for and accompanies the individual on community-based activities, if necessary.
- Submit Respite Forms that document activities that reflect consumer outcomes as required.
- Provides all insurance, vehicle, and drivers information.
- Must be capable of scheduling independently with clients/families.
- Complete scheduled trainings as assigned.
- Follows individual's ISP
- Submits paperwork timely and accurately
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
- Access to a privately owned vehicle
- Experience preferred but not required.
