The job of a Supported Independent Living Coach is to support individuals with Intellectual or Developmental disabilities in the community. Staff will ensure the safety and welfare of the individual as well as develop skills for everyday life.
This full-time position may vary slightly depending on individual needs. Staff will be expected to work evening and weekend hours with the potential of adding day shift hours as they become available.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides in-home or community based supports to individual(s) with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Ensures the health and welfare of the individual throughout the shift.
- Submit Progress notes that document activities that reflect consumer outcomes as required.
- Provides all insurance, vehicle, and drivers information.
- Must be capable of working independently with an individual/family as well as cooperatively with those persons and other agencies.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
- Access to a privately owned vehicle
- Some experience providing community-based support to individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities is required for this position.
Experience
Required- Some experience providing community-based support to individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities and/or Autism is required for this position.
Education
Required- High School or better
