Direct Support Professional (DSP) Required Experience/Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with the adults with intellectual and physical disabilities preferred, not required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid PA Driver’s License for certain locations/shifts
Direct Support Professional (DSP) Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit 3-7 hours per day.
- Ability to stand 1-3 hours per day.
- Ability to walk 1-3 hours per day.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing 10-50 pounds.
- Ability to twist upper portion of body on frequent basis.
- Ability to squat, bend and kneel for periods of time.
- Operate the motor vehicle assigned to the site if applicable.
Direct Support Professional (DSP) Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of, and implements each Individual’s ISP.
- Meets the physical and personal hygiene needs of each resident.
- Accompanies residents to various appointments as directed (e.g. audiologist, dental hygienist, physicians) and community outings.
- Completes all documentation and paperwork as required.
