What’s Required of You
- Active PA Behavior Specialist License
- Master’s Degree
- Valid PA Driver’s License

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to work with a variety of clients in regard to age, diagnosis, and support level and across various programs such as, Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), Community Living arrangements (CLA), Adult Day Services, and Home, School, or Community settings.
- Actively participates in team meetings and helps team members successfully implement supports to achieve quality outcomes.
- Observes the participant in various settings for the purpose of developing a behavior support plan and ensuring continuity of care.
- Collaborates with the participant, family, and team for the purpose of developing a behavior support plan that must include positive behavior support and approaches.
- Conducts comprehensive functional behavior assessments of presenting issues (e.g. aggression, self-injurious behavior, law offending behavior, sexual or otherwise) at initial admission, annually, or as needed.
- Develops and maintains behavior support plans, which utilize positive strategies to support the participant, based on functional behavior assessments.
- Conducts trainings related to the implementation of behavior support plans for the participant, family members, staff and other related training topics as needed. The training will include the detailed explanation of support plans as well as modeling stated strategies.
- Implements, monitors and revises (as needed) behavior support plan, including activities, strategies, and outcomes.
- Collaborates with the participant, his/her family and team in order to develop positive interventions to address specific presenting issues.
- Analyzes and interprets behavioral data and participates in monthly data review meetings with appropriate staff.
- Participates in psychiatric reviews and appointments and attends Human Rights Committee for identified clients.
- Serves as a resource person to psychiatric emergencies.
