What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Therapist, contract position position at St. Joseph's Center?
The Speech language pathologist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of the patients served by St. Joseph’s Center’s therapy department. The Speech Therapist must demonstrate the knowledge of the principles of growth over the life span, possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status; interpret the appropriate information needed to develop an individualized plan of care for each patients requirements relative to their specific needs; and to provide the care needed as described in accordance with the therapy department’s policy and procedure manual in order to assure that the highest degree of quality service is maintained at all times.
- Minimum Graduate of an accredited Master’s Degree program in Speech and Language Pathology as well as a Certificate of Clinical Competence according to standards set by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Active membership in ASHA
- Community CPR certification and first aide
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
- Pediatric Experience Preferred
- PA state criminal background check, child abuse clearances and FBI fingerprinting required
- 24 hour EI training required
- MA, MCO and private Insurance credentialing for billing preferred and required prior to contract starting.
- Responsible for travel, continuing education, credentialing and supply expenses
