POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a variety of duties to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining professionalism to the highest degree.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1.
High school diploma or equivalent
2.
Valid driver's license (must be maintained while employed)
3.
Obtain CPR/First aid certification within 60 days of hire date
4.
Obtain oleoresin capsicum spray (pepper spray) certification within 30 days of hire date *must be sprayed to obtain certification unless authorized by the security manager. *
EXPERIENCE:
1.
Previous experience in a security related role is preferred
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.
1.
Patrols grounds and facilities to ensure the safety and security of persons and property.
2.
Manages traffic control through issuing citations for infractions, assisting motorists, investigating incidents, etc.
3.
Responds to and assists staff, patients, and visitors during emergency situations such as combative people, fire, vandalism, bomb threats, theft, automotive incidents, abductions, etc.
4.
Completes daily written duty logs and incident reports to record all pertinent information
5.
Provides physical assistance, wheelchair assistance, and escorts to patients, visitors, and staff.
6.
Operates hospital owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
7.
May assist nurses with patients, such as gathering information or applying restraints.
8.
Enforces all hospital policies and procedures.
9.
Maintains constant visibility and presence in the hospital, to provide information and directional resources for all patients, visitors, and staff.
10.
Responds to patient, visitor, and staff requests for informational and assistive purposes in a caring and courteous manner.
11.
****Hourly equipment checks (night shift) on all equipment or when Engineering staff is unavailable.
12.
Other requirements may include making lab runs to other facilities when staff shortages are present, incident report writing, constant visual rounds of all buildings on the premises, crowd control, traffic control, media issues, victim assistance, disaster response, CCTV camera system monitoring, and other duties as assigned.
