Medical Record Document Acquisition (Document Chaser)

In this position you will:
Call our patients doctors’ offices to collect information missing from patient files: RX, medical notes etc. Many doctors offices will require repeated calls to acquire documentation. Candidate must be fearless in making repeated calls.
Be responsible for following to acquisition the requested documents. This can include, calling the doctors’ offices and asking again and again until they send it, calling the patients to let them know their doctor won’t send the needed information, working with patient to collect the documentation. Occasionally dealing with upset patients and overworked doctor’s office staff.
This is a heavy phone job (over 100 outgoing calls per day), please have experience with and a willingness to work with people on the phone, build relationships with doctors’ offices and patients over the phone while always maintaining a calm and respectful demeanor.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to perform advanced, diversified and confidential administrative, data entry and document chasing to complete patient medical files.
- Needs excellent verbal communication skills, Microsoft office skills and accurate data entry.
- Must be experienced, dependable, reliable and consistent
Skills Needed
- PC proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Suites.
- Database experience preferred.
- Requires strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be task oriented, and be able to multi-task, self-manage & prioritize
- Be a self-starter who can work independently with little supervision.
- Accurate Data Entry
- Have Excellent Telephone Etiquette
- Possess Computer Skills and the ability to learn new computer programs/procedures with ease
- Be a fearless dialer and phone communicator
Education
High School / Medical vocational/technical school graduates a plus
Experience level: Extensive experience preferred
Monday - Friday 8:30-5:00
