- Attend work in a regular, reliable, and punctual manner.
- Assume responsibilities and supervision of the Health Services program in accordance with the minimum standards for accreditation as set forth by the State Board of Nursing.
- Maintain ongoing, systematic development, implementation, and evaluation of the entire program.
- Provide classroom instruction and clinical supervision as needed.
- Evaluate and counsel students to facilitate optimal utilization of the learning opportunities within the program.
- Coordinate student experiences, outside the classroom, with all other institutions utilizing the facilities.
- Maintain up-to-date contracts with all outside facilities.
- Work closely with the personnel of participating health care agencies to provide appropriate clinical experiences for the students.
- Advisory committee: serve as Ex-Offico. Select members, schedule meetings, and maintain minutes of the meetings.
- Submit budget request to the Director for supplies, equipment, and instructional materials.
- Maintain and ensure confidentiality of student records as needed for selection, guidance, counseling, evaluation and program follow-up.
- Participate in professional organizations and maintain teacher certification, as well as clinical and educational competency in areas of instructional responsibility.
- Attend a seminar on methods of teaching through the Department of Senior Services.
- Assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Technical Education.

Qualifications:
Required: Must hold current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Missouri. Must meet one of the following qualifications to become an instructor:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an area appropriate for the subject area being taught and four thousand (4000) hours of DESE-approved, related occupational experience obtained within the most recent ten (10) years; or verification of an associate’s degree in an area appropriate for the subject area being taught and five thousand (5000) hours related occupational experience within the most recent ten (10) years; or verification of at least six thousand (6000) hours related occupational experience within the most recent ten (10) years.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a Master of Science in Nursing. Certified CNA instructor. Have a minimum of two - four years nursing experience and at least one-year experience in the provision of LTC facility services in the last five years.

Purpose: The Health Services Instructor has primary responsibility for instructing the students of the Health Sciences 2nd year of the program. Students will be participating in various health career pathways.
