School Janitor - Day Porter

Reporting Functions: Reports to the Director of Maintenance

Job Function: cleaning, set-up/tear down for events

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assure that classrooms, bathrooms, offices and public spaces are clean and orderly.

· Assist with set up/ take down for events on the property.

· Replenish supplies including toilet paper, hand towels, soap, etc.

· Cleaning to include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, responding to custodial emergencies, etc.

· Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

Educational Requirements:

· Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, kneeling, pivoting, carrying and crawling; carrying, pushing and/or pulling; going up and down ladders and flights of steps frequently; climbing and lifting. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items 50- 100 pounds.

Working Conditions: Indoor; School environment. Part-time position; 30 hours per week, 9 am – 3 pm
